Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient healing art based on the premise that every part, organ and gland is reflected elsewhere on the body. Many of these reflexes can be found on the feet. In response to applied pressure, peripheral nerves in the feet send a message to the Central Nervous System to adjust tension levels throughout the body. The sympathetic nervous system, responsible for the "fight-or-flight" response, gives way to the parasympathetic system, initiating a "rest-and-repair" response. As tension eases, relaxation occurs throughout the body including internal organs and systems bringing the body to a state of balance and optimal functioning. Blood supply is also increased enhancing oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells as well as the removal of waste.
This physiological response also has a positive impact on the overall functioning of the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, immune, endocrine, excretory and neuropeptide systems.
When stress is left unchecked, deposits and blockages may occur, interfering with the flow through the neural pathways. Direct stimulation of the affected reflexes clears the congestion and restores vital flow.
Some benefits of Reflexology are:
Profound relaxation
Release of tension, stress and anxiety
Relief from pain and faster healing

Heightened focus and clarity of mind
Improved circulation
Improved detoxification and waste removal
